The Mille Miglia and the Time of the Palazzo
The most beautiful race in the world meets the slowed time of Palazzo Santangelo
The most beautiful race in the world
The Mille Miglia is one of the most prestigious motor races in the world. For many, the most important of all.
Born during the pioneering era of motorsport, long before the creation of the Formula One World Championship, it was crossed by figures such as Ferrari, Ascari, Nuvolari and Stirling Moss.
Today it survives as a historic reenactment, a regularity race.

Brescia and the Mille Miglia
The Mille Miglia has always started from Brescia, reached Rome and finally returned to Brescia.
Following a different route every year, it is a true journey across Italy: a moving line crossing the country from North to Centre.

Palazzo Santangelo and the race
For many years, Centro Paolo VI has had a special relationship with what Enzo Ferrari once called “the most beautiful race in the world”.
Palazzo Santangelo stands only a few metres from the main Mille Miglia locations in Brescia: Piazza Vittoria, where race numbers are distributed to competitors, and Viale Venezia, where the competition begins and returns the following Saturday.
Centro Paolo VI also collaborates with Mille Miglia teams, drivers and sponsors, both for their hospitality and for initiatives connected to the race.

Inside the Mille Miglia
To stay at Palazzo Santangelo during the days of the Mille Miglia means entering the race, not simply watching it.
In the Palazzo garden, guests may encounter dozens of historic and iconic automobiles: Ferrari, Porsche, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes.
To share spaces and anticipation with drivers and navigators.
To observe them studying routes in the hours before departure.
To inhabit an environment crossed by the race.

The time of speed
The Mille Miglia and Palazzo Santangelo meet each other in a particular relationship with time.
On one side, the controlled time of speed and precision.
On the other, the slowed time of the Palazzo.
Once a year, these two forms of time meet.

The Mille Miglia is a historic motor race that starts every year from Brescia, crosses Italy to Rome and returns to the city.
For Centro Paolo VI and Palazzo Santangelo, the race represents a particular relationship with time: the time of speed, precision and travel meeting the slowed time of the Palazzo.
During the Mille Miglia, Palazzo Santangelo hosts teams, drivers and sponsors, allowing travelers to experience the race from within.
